Industry roundtable #2: Digital futures & emerging technologies

Fashion Business Research hosted its first IRL industry roundtable last Friday, to tackle the big question: “what are the global issues we can change through our research?” focusing on the theme of Digital Futures and emerging technologies. With the help of three incredible panellists, Dr Ahmed Zaidi, CEO and Co-founder of Hyran Technologies and AI expert, Jonathan Chippendale, Co-founder and CEO of Holition and Jennifer Dickinson, Brand and Content Director at DREST, we explored the impact of Web3 on fashion, the role of the Metaverse, humanising technology, AI, machine learning and fashion’s response to big data and industry mindset changes required to embrace digital futures. Attended by over 70 people, comprising FBS colleagues, PGR and PGT students, the panel offered plentiful takeaways for possible research projects.

Industry roundtable #1: Circular Economy & Fashion Business Models

Lots of rich pickings to be had at Fashion Business Research’s industry roundtable in November, where fabulous panelists Susie Mashford, Marketing Director Ganni, Eshita Kabra, Founder and CEO of By Rotation, and Eleonora Tieri, Project Leader in Climate and Sustainability Practice at Boston Consulting Group, facilitated by the fantastic Kaye Carmichael, Global Head of Marketing at Net A Porter, sought to tackle the big question: “What are the global issues we can change through our research?” with a deep dive into circular economy and fashion business models. Attracting an international audience of over 50 people, the panel offered rich insights, provocations and optimism.
